CT scan, and I-131 treatment for feline hyperthyroidism. Your general practice veterinarian may consult with the internists at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital, or your pet may be referred to our internists for specialized diagnostics and care.

In addition, your general practice veterinarian might refer you to our internal medicine specialists for blood transfusion, abdominal ultrasound, or hospitalization in our Intensive Care Unit, or ICU.

Internal Medicine Appointments - Scheduled appointments may be made through our referral coordinators. Initial appointments are 60 minutes in length to allow a thorough examination of your pet. Progress exam appointments are generally 30-60 minutes in length. For all initial appointments, please bring all medical records, lab work, x-rays, and medications with you. Patients should be restricted from food for 12 hours preceding an appointment with the internist.
