Dr. Angel Martinez

Dr. Angel Martinez graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2014. After graduating, she began her veterinary career practicing in North London before returning to the United States. She spent many years practicing in Denver, Colorado, before making her way to Santa Cruz. Her experience spans general practice, urgent care, shelter medicine, as well as emergency and critical care medicine.

Dr. Martinez's professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, urgent care, geriatric medicine, and the care of exotic companion mammals. She also has a special interest in International Health Certificates and pet travel and is a USDA-accredited veterinarian, helping families navigate the often complicated process of traveling domestically and internationally with their pets. Dr. Martinez especially values building lasting relationships with her clients and believes in providing thoughtful, individualized care while helping families understand their options and make the best decisions for their pets.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Martinez enjoys hiking, swimming, scuba diving, and traveling. She was drawn to Santa Cruz by its natural beauty and loves the unique proximity of the mountains to the sea, which provides endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. She shares her home with her family and a Belgian Malinois–Great Pyrenees pup rescued from the local animal shelter.
